If you are thinking about installing a new staircase then there are a few things you need to think about. A new staircase means kickstarting renovations, it is an important feature of your home, structurally and visually. The staircase must be safe enough to hold a big amount of weight while allowing you to comfortably access the floors above. However, it’s about the style too as it make a big difference to the interior design of your home.

  1. Cost – Finding a price that suits you best can be difficult. It is hard to know how much the staircase you have in mind actually is. We recommend to give us a call and see how we can help. But try to set yourself a budget and try to stick to it.Your budget will of course determine much of what you can and can’t do. For example, bespoke staircases can cost upwards of £15,000 whereas a made to measure stair case can cost between £2000 t0 £3,000 upwards but this will depend largely on the materials used.
  2.  Necessary – Could you simply renovate your existing staircase? You can save some money as you wouldn’t need to rip them out and install new ones in place.
  3. style – Think about the aesthetics of the staircase and how you want it to fit in with the rest of the interior decor. There are many different styles, finishes and looks available. It is a big job and can be costly, therefore a ‘timeless’ design might be best –
  4. Prepared – Brace yourself for the inconvenience and dust, and not being able to use the upstairs until they are installed.
